  5. The final version of NCSA Mosaic for the Macintosh 2.0.1 was 
  6. released Monday, October 2, 1995.

  53. To UnStuff & UnBinHex NCSA Mosaic we recommend that you use
  54. StuffIt Expander.  The expander is available at ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu  
  55. in the /Mosaic/Mac/Helpers/ directory.

  57. Important Note
  58.  
  59. Some people are having problems starting up MacMosaic. If MacMosaic
  60. crashes before the splash screen is displayed, it is possible that there
  61. is a problem with your system. We now know that when the Apple Shared 
  62. Library Manager(ASLM) is deinstalled improperly, when any application asks
  63. the MacOS if ASLM is present, the system will crash.  To deinstall the ASLM
  64. run the ASLM installer.  Hold the option key down and the install button
  65. should change to a deinstall button.  Click the deinstall button.

  67. It is possible that this problem may exist with other MacOS
  68. extensions that require an installer. If MacMosaic won't start
  69. up on your machine, we recommend that you reinstall the system.

  75.     Sometimes menus are not updated properly when editing
  76.         custom menus.
  77.     There are still pagination problems in tables.
  78.     Does not work with Type Reunion.
  79.     Sometimes the menu bar gets messed up when you start up
  80.         the PowerMac version.  (This seems to be a MacOS
  81.         problem.  I have seen it in other applications
  82.         besides Mosaic.)
  83.     There are still some pagination bugs that have been

  338.     Extracting tables from cache now works.
  339.     Loading XBMs under certain circumstances previously could

  342.     It was previously possible to submit a form several times before the
  343.         first submission was processed. This would cause a crash.

  360.     user must be set in the "Preferences", under "Gates" before this
  361.     feature is accessible.

  365.     A local disk caching feature has been implemented.  NCSA Mosaic will
  366.     now retain copies of recently accessed documents to decrease the
  367.     amount of time spent accessing the network.  There is also a "Cache"
  368.     section in the "Preferences...".  Caching preferences should be set
  369.     soon after starting this version of NCSA Mosaic.  If this is not
  370.     done, NCSA Mosaic will default to the System Folder as its cache
  371.     directory resulting in a large number of cache files being saved
  372.     to the System Folder.
